Getting Ready

How to Prepare for Your Appointment

Everything to do before your visit and after it, for each of our treatments. Find yours below — and if anything is unclear, just call us.

True for every appointment

  • Arrive 10 minutes early for a short intake form
  • Come with clean skin on the treatment area — no makeup, lotion or SPF
  • Bring a list of any medications or supplements you take
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds beforehand
  • Tell Nancy about anything that has changed since your last visit
  • Give us 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule

Laser Hair Removal

Before your appointment

  • Shave the treatment area 12–24 hours beforehand — the laser needs the follicle intact below the surface
  • Stop waxing, plucking and threading for at least four weeks; those remove the follicle the laser needs to find
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for two weeks, and skip self-tanner for a week
  • Pause retinoids and exfoliating acids on the area for 3–5 days
  • Arrive with clean skin — no lotion, deodorant or makeup on the area
  • Tell Nancy about any new medication, especially antibiotics, which can increase light sensitivity

After your session

  • Expect mild redness and small raised bumps for a few hours — a cool compress helps
  • Skip hot showers, saunas, swimming pools and hard workouts for 24–48 hours
  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily to any treated area that sees sun
  • Don’t pluck or wax between sessions — shaving is fine and won’t affect your results
  • Let the treated hairs shed on their own over 1–3 weeks; gentle exfoliation after a week can help
  • Call us if you notice blistering or anything that seems out of the ordinary

Plasma Facial

Before your appointment

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for two weeks before your session
  • Pause retinoids, glycolic and salicylic acids for 3–5 days
  • Skip chemical peels and aggressive exfoliation for two weeks
  • Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, SPF or heavy moisturiser on the treatment area
  • Stay well hydrated in the days beforehand; it genuinely affects how skin responds
  • Tell Nancy about any active cold sores, recent injectables or new medications

After your session

  • Expect warmth and a mild flush for a few hours — this is normal and settles on its own
  • Use only gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and moisturiser for 48 hours
  • Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every day; new collagen is photosensitive
  • Hold off on retinoids and acids for five days
  • Skip saunas, hot yoga and intense workouts for 24 hours
  • Drink plenty of water — hydrated skin remodels better

  • Use only gentle cleanser and a bland moisturiser for five days
  • Strict broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily for at least four weeks

  • Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ — sun exposure undoes collagen work faster than anything else

Dark Spots Removal

Before your appointment

  • Strictly no sun exposure or tanning for four weeks beforehand — this one is non-negotiable

  • Stop retinoids and acids five days before
  • Arrive with clean skin, no makeup or SPF on the treatment area
  • Flag any spot that has changed shape, size or colour recently so Nancy can refer you appropriately
  • Tell Nancy about photosensitising medications, particularly certain antibiotics

  • Do not pick, scrub or exfoliate the crusts; let them lift naturally over 1–2 weeks
  • Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily, indefinitely — without it the pigment simply returns
  • Gentle cleanser and moisturiser only for one week
  • Avoid swimming and saunas for 48 hours
  • Keep the area covered in strong sun for a month afterwards

  • Normal activity, exercise and skincare can resume the same day
  • Broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily on any treated area that sees sun
  • Keep hydrated through your course — collagen formation depends on it
  • Don’t judge your result before week four; it builds slowly
  • Take a photo at the start so you can see the change honestly

Fibroblast Plasma

Before your appointment

  • Book when you have 7–10 days without important social or work commitments
  • Strictly no sun exposure or tanning for four weeks before treatment
  • Stop retinoids and acids for two weeks

  • Tell Nancy about cold sore history; preventative medication is often advised for lip-area treatment
  • Come with completely clean, product-free skin

After your session

  • Swelling peaks at 24–48 hours, especially around the eyes — cold compresses and sleeping elevated help
  • Do not pick, scratch or exfoliate the crusts under any circumstances; picking causes scarring
  • Keep the area dry for 48 hours, then cleanse gently with water only
  • No makeup until every crust has shed naturally, usually 5–7 days
  • Absolute sun avoidance for four weeks, then SPF 50 daily for three months
  • Call us immediately if you see spreading redness, heat or anything that looks like infection
